Last year we received our Re-Turn bin. We immediately started seeking and receiving donations of bottles and cans from our pupils, families, local community members and staff. All funds raised through the Re-Turn scheme go towards toys, games and other resources for our classroom, yard and sensory room. Our wonderful Student Council work hard to carefully plan and choose what the money will be spent on, making sure to budget for the bigger purchases.

This scheme helps us to raise valuable funds while encouraging pupils to take responsibility for caring for and protecting the environment.

To further promote the scheme, we encourage pupils, families and community members to ‘Bring a Bottle, Carry a Can on Wednesdays’. This is a great way to continue to raise funds to support our school, while also supporting our environment.

This year, we have signed up to the Re-Turn Awards. Through this, we will share our story of our approach to collecting and utilising the Re-Turn Scheme in hope of receiving an award for our school’s efforts. It’s not about the number of bottles or cans that are returned- it’s about the difference they make.
